If you’re new to Job Hacking, welcome! This post is the best place to start (after reading our About page).
The entire foundation of Job Hacking really comes down to a single principle: Employers are human beings.
While this sounds obvious, most job seekers seem to forget this principle. Job hunters forget that there is a human out there wanting to hire them, and instead spend all their time uploading resumes to online job boards like Indeed.com. They assume that there is an established “system” for getting a job, and that this system is submitting applications to online job postings. After submitting ten or twenty applications and not hearing a peep from anyone, the job seeker falls into despair.
If only the job seeker realized that they’re going about the process the entirely wrong way!
In reality, there is no “system” for hiring people. Yes, there are thousands of online job postings, but there are actually human beings who posted those job ads. It is those human beings who are hiring, it’s not the “system” that’s hiring.
So, who exactly are these human beings? We’ll cover that in the next blog post.
